The impact of COVID-19 on the social, economic, political, cultural, and academic affairs of countries around the world has been enormous. Disruptions have ranged from closing schools, universities, institutions, and massive loss of human lives writes Professor Damtew Teferra. In addition, a recent report by John Agaba, describes how the surge of coronavirus cases in the East Africa countries has forced many institutions to close, with students forced to return home. Therefore, there is an urgent demand for a free eLearning platform for universities in Africa.  AAU has            partnered with eLearnAfrica to Design, Develop, Deliver, and Deploy Learning Management systems (LMS) throughout Africa.
